WHO I AM There's something about me

Young, creative Brit loving life in Berlin
Five things that always make me smile:
ice cream, cycling, books, dancing & knitwear
Five awesome things I’ve done:

- won a piano contest with a broken finger
- dog-sledding in Sweden
- cycled from Salzburg to Budapest
- ran the BIG25 25km race through Berlin
- built an IKEA shelf all by myself

I love words. I love the feeling of knowing I’ve found the perfect solution to a tricky translating challenge. I don’t simply translate word for word but with cultural understanding and linguistic flair.
My main motivation when learning German was to be able to communicate with more people and find a new way to express myself. Now, I enjoy using my language skills to help others communicate with a wider audience. As part of the web generation I understand the importance of internet presence and social media communication, particularly for young, emerging enterprises. Don’t let poor translations spoil your company image!
I have an innate curiosity and always carry out thorough research into the topic of my translation, ensuring insight and accuracy. I am always open for new challenges and the chance to learn more.
Grew up in the green Shropshire hills, spent most of my childhood at dance classes, playing the piano and reading Harry Potter.
Spent much of my student years drinking tea, climbing mountains and throwing impromptu fancy dress parties. With a few lectures, books, essays and research projects thrown in for good measure.
Since moving to Berlin I have been translating, tour guiding, finding the best ice cream parlours, discovering contemporary German literature, exploring the city's lakes and open air cinemas in the summer and its museums and theatres in the winter.
